Are You Ignoring Your Partner?

From: artanddancing.wordpress.com |

I know the kitties are cute, but let’s not get distracted…it’s Story Time! I’m reading Lewis Armstrong’s biography, Pops, and something he said really struck me. Joe Oliver was his idol, and he got to play in his band. However, as Lewis grew as a Trumpet player, he realized that he could out-play Joe.

Field Trip: Suite Lorain, Cleveland, OH

From: lindyshopper.com |

Suite Lorain is one of those rare places where there are entire racks devoted to 1930′s and 1940′s clothing, rather than being relegated to a few rare items on the wall or stuck in the middle of a mound of polyester. In fact, Suite Lorain skirts the issue by focusing exclusively on “Deco to 1960′s.”

10 Things I Wish Someone Had Told Me

From: allthecatsjoinin.wordpress.com |

When I first started dancing I was super enthusiastic, much to the dismay of many a follow’s arms. I wanted to know big and flashy moves, and for me that meant the Texas Tommy. Now, as I look back at that green well-spring of passion and flailing arms from eleven years ago, there’s so much I wish someone had told me. I mentioned this to Susanne, and she helped me compile this list of things that don’t often get talked about in the lindy world.
